As part of Work Package 2 of the HOST-EG project, dedicated to strengthening entrepreneurial skills in the sustainable tourism sector, the Entrepreneurship Tutorials were conducted at the National University of Equatorial Guinea (UNGE) and the Afro-American University of Central Africa (AAUCA).
These sessions, aimed at university students, sought to encourage entrepreneurship as a professional pathway and introduce the basic principles of sustainable entrepreneurship.
The preparation of the tutorials was coordinated by a Joint Commission on Entrepreneurship Tutorials, composed of representatives from both Equatoguinean universities and the project’s European partner institutions. This commission developed teaching materials, presentations, and guides on how to create business plans focused on sustainable tourism, which served as the basis for classroom activities.
During the sessions, students worked in teams of three or four to design viable and sustainable business ideas, mainly in the tourism sector. Each group created a business plan that included elements such as market analysis, organizational structure, investment planning, and financing strategies.
The program involved 31 faculty members—19 from UNGE and 12 from AAUCA—who guided the students throughout this practical learning process.
As a result, 492 students (273 men and 219 women) actively participated in the initiative, producing 89 business plans focused on sustainable tourism development in Equatorial Guinea. At UNGE, 244 students developed 59 projects, while at AAUCA, 248 students presented 30 business plans.
These outcomes demonstrate the commitment of Equatoguinean universities and their European partners to promoting sustainable entrepreneurship as a driver of development and employability among the country’s youth.
This activity is part of the HOST-EG project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.
